I live in a small, contentious community, to which I'm wedded for better and for worse. There are no stores out here, no public utilities, no paved roads. Electricity is homemade, and water for our house is pumped from an aquifer 240 feet below the surface of our land. In between young and old, a lifelong professional dilettante, I'm excited by the shapes that clay takes in my hands, and the way just a few colors of paint can be blended on the palette to make a whole world of color. Words and images keep me fully alive. |
